SBCS August Convention Update from Mark

Last weekend Amy and I went to Chicago to check out the hotel, nail down the tours, and have some great Chicago fun. We were knocked out by how beautiful and luxurious our convention hotel is.
When they say “newly renovated”, they are not kidding.
Sitting in the “cafe” end of the lobby where we’ll be eating breakfast together, we marvelled at the fabulous view of Chicago skyline. Step outside and you’re in the midst of the North Loop, surrounded by beautiful buildings and fabulous restaurants… a short walk from the river where we’ll start Saturday’s architectural boat tour.

We racked up the steps as we explored the city yet again.
In the Hyde Park area, on the South Side, we visited the Museum of Science and Industry and ate at Valois, a huge cafeteria and one of Obama’s favorites.
In North Chicago we went to two antique malls on N. Broadway and walked away with some beautiful finds, including a 9″ lead Havoline Tower and a handful of Banthrico banks. I was amazed at the number of buildings we saw in only two small malls. We’re pretty excited about the Randolph St. Market.

There are about 60 days left before our Chicago Convention.  Please fill out the registration form and get it in the mail. Registration Fees increase on July 10.  July 31 is the cut-off date for Our SBCS Member Special rates at the Hilton Homewood Suites, Chicago.  Book your room now through the link on the Convention Registration Form.

More details to come.  Prizes, Awards, party game….. SEE YOU IN CHICAGO!
