What is the Souvenir Building Collectors Society?
The SBCS was formed in 1994 by a small group of avid collectors meeting in California. Everyone chipped in $10 to cover the cost of printing and mailing a newsletter to see if there were other collectors out there. Soon we were receiving messages that seemed to come from people stranded on the edge of the universe: “Thank God I found you! I thought I was the only one out here collecting these things!”
Currently there are about 200 members in the US, Canada, Finland, and Germany. We hold an annual meeting which has taken place in New York City twice, Los Angeles, Washington DC twice, Chicago, Montreal (our first International Convention), San Francisco, Gettysburg, Seattle, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Dallas, Charlottesville, Pasadena, and Stamford.
